Berda rug

This dark grey wool rug features soft ivory white stripes for a bold yet minimalist contrast. Handwoven from natural sheep's wool, it's a striking Ukrainian wool rug that anchors a room with warmth and texture.

The rug is handcrafted from natural sheep's wool. All our rugs are woven on looms using traditional techniques in the Ukrainian Carpathians, washed in mountain water, and dried in the fresh air. These rugs are called "lizhnyk" and can also be used as a bedspread, blanket, sofa pad, or throw.

What is a lizhnyk rug?
A lizhnyk is a traditional handwoven Ukrainian wool rug, made from undyed sheep's wool using centuries-old Carpathian techniques.

Is this rug machine washable?
Small-sized Berda rugs can be machine washed on a delicate or wool cycle using a wool-specific detergent. For larger sizes, we recommend spot-cleaning or professional cleaning to preserve the natural fibers.

Can I order a custom size?
