Lukva rug

This ivory wool rug is woven in a smooth flat-weave technique, featuring a bold grey diamond pattern. Its clean, geometric design makes it a striking Ukrainian wool rug for minimalist and Scandinavian-style interiors.

The rug is handcrafted from natural sheep's wool. All our rugs are woven on looms using traditional techniques in the Ukrainian Carpathians, washed in mountain water, and dried in the fresh air. These rugs are called "lizhnyk" and can also be used as a bedspread, blanket, or throw.

Lukva is made using a smooth flat-weave technique, giving it a clean, even surface rather than a textured pile.

What does the diamond pattern represent?
The diamond (rhombus) motif is a traditional geometric pattern found in Ukrainian folk textiles, often symbolizing fertility and protection.

Is this rug machine washable?
Small-sized Lukva rugs can be machine washed on a delicate or wool cycle using a wool-specific detergent. For larger sizes, we recommend spot-cleaning or professional cleaning.
